New York Performance Boating
The open waters of Lake George
and Sacandaga Lake offer some great opportunities
to open it up a bit. With both lakes being about
30 miles in length, there is plenty of room to
let it run. There are some speed and sound restrictions
on Lake George (view the Lake
George Boating Laws.) Organized runs are held
at both lakes (although some years Lake George
has just had smaller gatherings), and the speed
and noise restrictions are lifted for the day
on Lake George. For the latest information on
any organized runs or gatherings, please visit

Event Listings. BoatUpstate.com will be attending
these events and posting pictures and videos,
so be sure to check frequently.
Lake George Performance
Boating: Lake George offers some deep
open waters and great scenery. The northern end
of the lake is much less crowded than the southern
end of the lake, but you still need to be aware
of the speed limits. There are some great businesses
and organizations in the Lake George area that
support performance boaters needs, including the
Donzi Classic Club, Performance Marine.
Sacandaga Lake Performance
Boating: Sacandaga is just a bit shorter
in length than Lake George, but the open section
of the lake is very wide, which makes it ideal
for running wide open. Unlike Lake George, there
are no speed or noise limits on Sacandaga.
Saratoga Lake Performance
Boating: Saratoga is much smaller than
Lake George or Sacandaga Lake, and it can get
crowded on weekends, so it is not the ideal place
to open up a 35 foot Baja, but there are a good
amount of fast, loud boats up there and during
the week it is very quiet.
